Uptown Columbus/CRD Event & Activity Permit Guidelines

Effective May 1, 2025

To ensure the safety, accessibility, and smooth coordination of events held in the 47 blocks of the Uptown District, all individuals, businesses, and organizations must follow the guidelines outlined below when requesting permits for events or activities within the public right-of-way. You can find the new requirements and guidelines regarding permits in the Uptown area below.  

Please note that the following activities require a permit issued through the proper channels in coordination with Uptown Columbus and the City of Columbus:

  • Parades and Processions

  • Street Closures or Lane Blockages

  • Large Gatherings / Festivals

  • Outdoor Sound / Amplified Music

  • Open Container Ordinance Requests

  • Demonstrations / Public Assemblies
