Project Coordinator – UPTOWN BUSINESS IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT
Uptown Columbus, Inc. is seeking a motivated, dependable, and hands-on Project Coordinator to join our team and help maintain the appearance, safety, functionality, and overall experience of the Uptown Columbus Business Improvement District (BID). This position is highly visible in the community and is responsible for coordinating maintenance, preventive maintenance, public-space projects, equipment, facilities, and special projects throughout Uptown. The ideal candidate is someone who takes pride in their work, notices the details, is comfortable working outdoors, can coordinate with multiple partners, and is proactive about identifying problems and finding solutions.

Basic knowledge of maintenance, facilities, equipment, or public-space operations preferred.
Previous experience in facilities, maintenance, project coordination, parks and recreation, property management, event operations, or a related field preferred.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Valid driver's license required.
Organizational Relationship:
Reports to the President & CEO
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct regular inspections throughout the Uptown BID District and identify maintenance, cleanliness, safety, and appearance concerns.
Coordinate with City departments, contractors, vendors, and Uptown staff to address maintenance and repair needs.
Oversee preventive maintenance for BID facilities, equipment, public spaces, and operational systems.
Monitor and maintain Uptown trash cans, bicycle racks, power receptacles, sidewalks, curbs, banners, parks, public spaces, and other BID assets.
Coordinate pressure washing and Clean Team activities.
Monitor trash collection and the trash compactor area.
Maintain and inspect Whitewater Park, Island areas, public restrooms, playgrounds, and other Uptown amenities.
Coordinate maintenance and operational needs for the Splash Pad, including seasonal startup, inspections, water-quality requirements, certification, and professional servicing.
Coordinate preventive maintenance and testing of the Uptown Emergency Alarm/Public Address Speaker System.
Monitor pumps, valves, fountains, electrical equipment, lighting, sound systems, and other public-space equipment.
Coordinate repairs with properly licensed or qualified contractors when required.
Maintain keys, locks, gates, and access to designated Uptown facilities.
Monitor public safety and facility concerns and coordinate with the Columbus Police Department or appropriate City department when necessary.
Ensure the company truck, golf carts, Clean Team equipment, and other BID equipment are properly maintained and serviced.
Install and replace Uptown banners throughout Broadway, the 14th Street Pedestrian Bridge, RiverWalk, and other designated locations.
Assist with Market Days, Uptown events, and other special events.
Maintain accurate records of inspections, work orders, repairs, preventive maintenance, and completed projects.
Provide regular updates to the President & CEO regarding projects, maintenance needs, safety concerns, and outstanding issues.
Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by the President & CEO.
The Right Person For This Role:
We are looking for someone who is hands-on, proactive, organized, and takes ownership. This is not a position where you wait for someone to tell you something needs to be done. The Project Manager should be comfortable walking the district, identifying issues, coordinating solutions, following up, and making sure the job gets completed. The successful candidate will take pride in helping make Uptown Columbus clean, safe, attractive, welcoming, and ready for residents, businesses, and visitors every day.
