Functions:

Provide a level of superior cleanliness and maintenance on the sidewalks and curbs in Uptown Columbus. Act as an Ambassador in providing information and assistance to the public as required.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent

  • Ability to work outside 12 months per year

  • Ability to operate light industrial machinery 7 hours per day

  • Drivers license required with a clean MVR record

  • Provide the required skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job

Organizational Relationship:

  • Reports to the first level Supervisors

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Keep all block-faces free of trash, leaves, cigarette butts, dirt, rocks, and gravel in the area assigned.

  • Operate ATLV street-sweeper, pressure washer, blower, pan and broom, push-broom, and other light industrial equipment throughout all block-faces in the area assigned.

  • Perform other related general laborer duties as assigned.

  • Remove weeds from sidewalk crevices and tree wells in the area assigned.

  • Report all graffiti observed in the area assigned to the first level Supervisor.

  • Remove all handbills (illegal postings) from city properties and other surfaces in the area assigned.

  • Dispose of all trash, leaves, cigarette butts, and handbills in appropriate manner and at an assigned location.

  • Perform daily written maintenance and inspection on assigned equipment which includes pre-operation and post-operation checks, cleaning, and minor repairs.

  • Required to stand, walk, lift, kneel, crouch, and move up to 50 pounds.
